Partnering to Support Local Communities

Every fall, our team comes together to support families facing food insecurity in our community. This year’s food drive collected donations for seven local food banks, ensuring donations stay in the communities where they were given. Through the generosity of our employees, customers, and community partners, we’re proud to help make a difference for neighbors in need.

Page One Food Pantry

One of the food banks we supported this year is Page One, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Page County. Page One serves over 2,500 individuals, making up about 10% of the county’s population, by providing emergency food and financial assistance. While some know Page One for its thrift stores, many don’t realize it’s also home to a vital food pantry that serves so many local families.

The Page One team has been working tirelessly to reach more residents and ensure that anyone in need knows help is available. In recent years, the food pantry has experienced a steady increase in demand, especially for financial assistance. To help ease that burden, Page One encourages families to focus their limited resources on essential bills while relying on the pantry for food support. The growing need highlights just how vital it is to have accessible food and financial resources for neighbors across our community.

During our time with Page One, we learned that certain items are always in short supply: proteins, dairy products, and kid-friendly items like hot dogs and chicken nuggets. These donations are always welcome and deeply appreciated by the families who rely on the pantry.

The Power of Volunteers & Community Support

Volunteering at Page One showed us firsthand the impact a few hours of our time can have. Nonprofit organizations depend on volunteers to keep programs running smoothly and reach as many people as possible. When groups like ours step up to help, we gain a deeper understanding of the complex challenges families face, along with the real-world difference compassion and teamwork can make.

Many people hesitate to seek food assistance because of the stigma that can surround visiting a food pantry, which is something Page One works hard to change. The dedicated staff remind us that asking for help is never something to be ashamed of and that everyone deserves access to healthy, nourishing food. For anyone in need, they do everything possible to offer helpful resources and a welcoming, judgment-free space.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and partner who came together for this year’s food drive. Your support helps enable food banks like Page One to serve the most vulnerable in our communities and keeps hope alive for families facing tough times. Our commitment doesn’t end with the fall food drive. Together, we’ll continue to support Virginia families and strengthen our local food pantry network all year long.

Find a local food pantry, give what you can, and help ensure every family has access to a meal and a moment of hope. Your support today can change someone’s tomorrow.
