ROCKINGHAM COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE is responsible for the protection of life and property. Enforcement includes criminal investigations, security of courtrooms, service of civil processes of the courts and responsible for the operation and maintenance of the county jail. Each of these services must be provided seven days a week, 24 hours a day. The duties of the Sheriff are set forth in North Carolina law.
ROCKINGHAM COUNTY FIRE AND RESCUE is an ever-changing organization with the primary responsibility of protection of life and property from fire and other emergencies within the confines of Rockingham County.
